ENTRY RULES
- Registration begins August 1st and will come to an end September 15th.
- Bands chosen to perform will be notified by October 1st.
- Registration fee of $25 due upon admittance to the competition. As soon as your payment is received, your first round of tickets will be in the mail.
- Each band will be given 25 tickets to sell at $5 a piece.
- Money from ticket sales or unsold tickets must be returned the day of your scheduled performance.
- After your tickets are sold, if you need more, contact us directly to get another 25.
- If chosen for the battle, your band will be asked to provide one digital image, one MP3 and a brief bio for our website.
CONTEST RULES
- Each band will play a 45 minute set with 15 minutes for setup and tear down.
- Show up at load in time 30 minutes prior to door time. At that time check in with the show administrator. They will instruct you what to do with your gear, tickets, money etc. Return all unsold tickets, any tickets not returned are assumed sold.
- NO guest list provided. Anyone coming to the show must have a ticket or pay at the door.
- Be respectful to staff, venue and patrons.
- NO pyrotechnics of any kind.
- We do not encourage profanity. However, we do support an artist’s freedom of expression and therefore allow responsible use of profanity and explicit content
SCORING
- For the first three shows (Nov. 6, 13 and 20) the winner will be determined by a “people’s choice” system. Each ticket holder will be able to use their ticket stub as a ballot to vote for their chosen band. The band with the most votes at the end of the night will move on to the final round. (Nov. 27th)
- In the case of a tie, winner will be determined by an online vote at www.thosePhoenixProductions.com. Voting will begin at midnight the night of the show and will end at noon of the following day.
- For the final round of the competition (Nov 27th) winner will be chosen by a panel of three judges. Judges panel will base their scoring on a variety of factors: Crowd Response, Originality, Musical Ability, Content and Stage Presence.
- In case of a final round tie, winner will be decided by “People’s Choice” ballot results. If the People’s Choice also results in a tie, the panel of three judges will each have one vote for their choice of ultimate winner.
Wildcard band:
The fourth band to perform at the final competition will be the “wildcard band.” This band will be chosen by the final results of the “People’s Choice” ballot. Out of all the remaining bands that didn’t move on to the final show, the one that accumulated the most ballot votes will be chosen to compete for the grand prize Saturday Nov. 27th.
Prize Package Specifics:
- Winner will be chosen after the final performance November 27th.
- Winner must be present to collect their prize.
- Winner will receive a check for $1000 made out to their contact person as soon as they are announced at the venue.
- Winning band will be responsible for contacting Guitar Sound Studio to schedule their free recording package. They will be given the proper contact information when they receive the prize package check.
- Recording portion of prize package limited to typical recording services from Guitar Sound Studio (time with engineer and equipment, not good for media supplies, etc). Time not to exceed a total of EIGHT hours. Additional hours can be purchased directly from the studio for discount rates to the winner. Scheduling is subject to availability. Recording portion of prize package must be scheduled within ninety (90) days of the completion of the competition or studio time will be forfeited. Winner is expected to abide by all studio policies as posted on studio web site or any remaining time will also be forfeit.
Phoenix Productions reserves the right to refuse entry to any band. Rules are subject to change with out notice. |
